On a rainy night, an insomniac man walks into a small bar hidden in an alley. Behind the counter, a woman welcomes him as if she already knows him. As forgotten memories begin to come back, the line between memory and reality slowly starts to disappear. What seems like a chance encounter will eventually lead him to a truth his mind has been trying to protect him from for years.

Director Statement.

The film explores the fragile boundary between memory and reality through the story of a man whose past gradually resurfaces during a mysterious night. What begins as a seemingly ordinary encounter slowly becomes a journey into memories he has spent years trying to avoid.

I wanted to tell this story through atmosphere, silence, restrained performances and fragmented visual memories, allowing the mystery to unfold gradually rather than explaining everything directly. The film is ultimately about loss, memory and the way the mind can reshape a painful experience in order to protect itself.

About the Director.

Felice Mazzeo is an Italian actor and filmmaker. Having gained experience in theatre through monologues and performances, as well as in cinema, appearing in various productions as both an actor and an extra, he makes his directorial debut with La Ragazza, a narrative short film in which he serves as director, screenwriter and lead actor.

His artistic interests centre on the psychological dimensions of characters and stories in which reality and perception come into conflict. He is drawn to those moments when it becomes difficult to distinguish what has actually happened from what exists only in the mind.

As a director, he seeks an understated visual language built around silences, glances, atmospheres and details, leaving room for the audience’s own interpretation. He prefers to suggest rather than explain, using mystery as a means of exploring the emotional worlds of his characters.

With La Ragazza, he brings this approach to narrative filmmaking for the first time, telling a story suspended between psychological drama and supernatural mystery.
